Samuel (2010), Teachers are expected to be creative and resourceful, teaching practice provides students opportunity to be resourceful through improvisation from the local environment, students are able to detect their strength and weakness before the commencement of supervision. Their involvement with both permanent and practicing teachers as well as the pupils provides them with a standard for evaluating the viability of teaching profession. It is also helps them adjust strictly to the environment they find themselves, this has to do with cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains of the learners, which can help in the general growth of the nation.
The development of adequate skills and competencies is an important characteristic of teaching practice in the Nigerian education system. In support of this, one of the National Educational Objectives stated that the acquisition of appropriate skills, abilities and competencies both mental and physical are important for all Nigerians to live and contribute to the development of their society (Federal Republic of Nigeria - FRN 2004). The knowledge of economics of education (ema402) made me know that most students would not discover their teaching skills and influence until they go for teaching practice. It can be deduced from this assertion that teaching practice experience exposes most students to realize their teaching skills and knowledge required of the profession to become a sound teacher that doesn’t render or offer an half baked knowledge to the pupils. Teaching practice is an important aspect towards becoming a teacher. It provides experience to student teachers in the actual teaching and learning environment. Samuel Nayimuli (2012), in his study analyzed the teaching practice as a make or break phase for students. His research was conducted on student teacher’s experience and anxieties during teaching practice. Koross R.
